In the framework of IGCP567, Dr. Andrey Korjenkov is convening a special IGCP567 session and field trip on Earthquake Archaeology and Palaeoseismology in Central Asia.
All information on the international symposium can be found in the first circular (and registration form).
If you are interested to contribute to this session and/or participate to the field trip, please contact Dr. Korjenkov (akorjen@mail.kg) as soon as possible. The final deadline is 15 March.
Symposium themes:
1. Modern geodynamics and problems of mountainbuilding: neotectonic structures, modern movements; influence of preorogenic structures on the development of neotectonic processes.
2. Tectonics and mechanisms of development of fold belts. Deep structure and instrumental methods of study of the intracontinental orogens lithosphere:
heterogeneities, physical nature of boundaries.
3. Stressed and deformed state of the Earth’s crust, problems of its block structure and self-similarity of geodeformation processes. Seismotectonics of intracontinental orogens zones.
4. Active geophysical monitoring. Problems of geospheres interaction, including the influence of physical fields on endogenous processes.
5. Geoelectrics, seismoelectromagnetism, and development of inversion methods.
6. Regional studies and seismic regime.
7. Environmental and social consequences of endogenous and exogenous geological processes, prediction of hazardous events (earthquakes, landslides, etc.)
