HOW TO GET MORELIA :

MEXICO CITY AIRPORT
It is very important to take a certified taxi from the airport. You will find the ticket offices inside the airport, once you purchase the ticket, they will lead you to your official taxi.
If you feel adventurous you can take the metro from the airport. The closest station is TERMINAL AEREA (yellow line); it is located just outside terminal 1 of the airport. The ticket costs MX$ 3.00
NOTE: As in most big cities be careful with pick pocketing

 

HOW TO GET TO MORELIA
By Bus: If you are traveling from Mexico city the easiest and most comfortable way is to get a bus from OBSREVATORIO bus station which is located on the west side of the city. The best bus to get is the ETN Company; they are very reliable and comfortable buses. Buses to Morelia depart every 30 minutes and it will cost you MX$ 400 (€ 25). By metro: It is possible to take the metro from the airport to arrive to bus station
OBSERVATORIO in which you can take the bus to Morelia. The closest station is TERMINAL AEREA (yellow line); it is located just outside the terminal 1 of the airport. Get off at PANTITLAN and change to the pink line which goes all the way to OBSERVATORIO station.

By plane: There is also the possibility of taking a flight from Mexico City’s airport with
AEROMEXICO or AEROMAR. Unless your flight is connected to arrive straight to Morelia form another country, this option is not recommended as it is very expensive and it will take you the same time as the bus, by the time you have checked in and travelled from the airport to Morelia City Centre. There are direct flights to Morelia from major cities in the US (Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and others).

CURRENCY
The currency in Mexico is Peso (MX$), although dollars are accepted in certain hotels, restaurants and shops.

WEATHER
During the month of November the average high is 26ºC and the average low 8ºC. Early  morning and night is when you get the lowest temperatures. It is recommended to dress in layers wearing a warm jumper over shirts or t-shirts.

WHAT TO BRING
Light jackets and jumpers are recommended for the morning and evening, shorts for warm days or fieldtrips, Hats, caps and sunglasses are also useful to cover from the sun, insect repellent is advised for fieldtrips
