Call for papers: Special Issue of the International Journal of Earth Science on Eastern Mediterranean Tectonics

The GeoFrankfurt conference took place a few days ago. Due to the large amount of work presented on Eastern Mediterranean Tectonics, a special issue on this topic will be published in the International Journal of Earth Sciences (former Geologische Rundschau). Paris Xypolias allowed me to circulate the call for papers:

Arising from a successful session in GeoFrankfurt2014 conference dealing with the tectonic evolution of the Eastern Mediterranean we are planning a special issue on this topic in International Journal of Earth Sciences. The special issue welcomes papers either from the participants of the session or from colleagues interesting in Eastern Mediterranean Tectonics but who were unable to attend the conference.

We invite contributions from all Earth Scientific disciplines (ranging from field-based to laboratory-based studies), which should have some implication for the pre-Alpine or Alpine or active tectonic evolution of the Eastern Mediterranean

If you are interested in contributing, please send me an email (p.xypolias@upatras.gr) with the tentative title, the list of authors, and a provisional short summary (no more than 200 words) outlining the aim and main objectives of the work.

Timeline:
Expression of interest: by 20th October 2014 to Paris Xypolias (p.xypolias@upatras.gr)
Submission deadline: May 2015

Guest editors: Paris Xypolias (Univ. Patras); Timur Ustaömer (Univ. Istanbul); Gernold Zulauf (Univ. Frankfurt a.M.)
