Program

The program of the Corinth2011 conference includes invited talks, talks, poster sessions, excursions, practical courses and social events. Excursions will be focussed on the active tectonics and the paleoseismicity of the fascinating Gulf of Corinth area and the Perakhora Peninsula. Furthermore, it will be possible to visit some of the most picturesque and most important sites of the ancient greek culture.


  • 18th September (Sunday) Arrival, accommodation
  • 19th September (Monday) Welcome, registration, opening ceremony, oral communications, invited conferences, poster session
  • 20th September (Tuesday) Oral communications, invited conferences, poster session, Boat excursion: the Corinth Channel, evening event
  • 21st September (Wednesday) Excursion: active tectonics and paleoseismology of the Perachora peninsula
  • 22nd September (Thursday) Excursion: tsunamis/harbours, Work shop Part 1, Sport event, conference dinner, party
  • 23rd September (Friday) Work shop Part 2
  • 24th September  (Saturday) Departure or optional: excursion on Saturday (+ 20 EUR + entrance fees) to one of the following destinations: 1) Olympia; 2) Delphi; 3) Mycene-Nafplion- Epidauros
  • 25th September (Sunday) Departure
